The "Liewer düd as Slav 1844" flag is a piece of regional history, reinterpreted. It was inspired by the oldest known flag bearing the North Frisian coat of arms, which was hoisted at the first North Frisian folk festival on June 10, 1844, in Bredstedt.

Today, the restored original is housed in the Institute for the History, Culture and Language of the North Frisians . Previously, it was safely stored for approximately 50 years and was professionally restored thanks to a donation.

This historical motif has been meticulously recreated in detail, giving everyone the opportunity to own a piece of North Frisian history in a high-quality tabletop format. The motto "Liewer düd as Slav" ("Better dead than a slave") symbolizes freedom and self-determination.
