Our flagpoles are made exclusively from waterproof, glued laminated timber. Nordic spruce provides the perfect base for this.

To protect the flagpole as effectively as possible from wind, weather, and deformation, it is milled to a conical shape, filled, and sanded several times. The pole is then finished with a blue stain-preventative primer, another coat of undercoat, and a final coat of acrylic lacquer or stain. Other colors, whether single, two-tone, or even three-tone, are available upon request.

The standard length of the mast on Sylt is 8m, however we can supply almost any length and width upon request.

The "Sylt" type flagpole bracket originated before Sylt was part of Germany. The design of the base was brought to Sylt by the Danish king, who was impressed by the simple tilting mechanism. By allowing the pole to "float" approximately 10-15 cm above the ground in the bracket, the pole gains significantly greater stability and is unaffected by the ground.

In the past, these mast bases were made of solid wood with a large diameter, so that it would take longer for the water in the ground to cause the mast to rot.

Today, masts are still manufactured with a wooden base, but the steel bracket is a much more sustainable solution.

Our "Sylt" type steel brackets are handcrafted from solid steel. The hot-dip galvanized and powder-coated steel bracket is optimally protected against the ground, wind, and weather.

With a total length of 2 meters, the base provides a secure hold in the ground. The foundation for this base measures 80x80x80 cm and thus complies with the German DIN standard for flagpoles.
